Our Favourite Sustainable Brands

Our Favourite Sustainable Brands

Last year, the Ethical Consumer Report highlighted that ethical markets had grown by 35% the year previously, expanding into £141.6 billion - the highest they’ve been since tracking began in 1999. It’s likely that the 2023 report will show an even bigger surge.

We’ve written a list of some of our favourite brands that are leading the way in their commitments to a better and more sustainable future!

  1. Lucy & Yak

You’ll probably recognise Lucy & Yak’s iconic dungarees, which are available in a range of colours, patterns and styles. The brand is committed to creating great quality clothing and accessories that last a lifetime and their products are always made from organic, recycled or deadstock fabrics. They’ve even introduced an initiative called Re:Yak, whereby you can sell your old dungarees back to them to be upcycled! If that wasn’t enough, the brand reinvest their profits into supporting education for girls.

2. Who Gives a Crap

Who Gives a Crap are on a mission to ensure that everyone has access to clean water and a toilet, and donate 50% of their profits towards this goal. Their bulk-packs of toilet paper rolls are made of 100% renewable and sustainable bamboo. Their quirky packaging is entirely plastic-free and they even provide free, carbon-neutral shipping on all orders over £20!

3. Circular & Co.

How many disposable cups have you used in your lifetime? Even cardboard coffee cups are lined with a plastic material to keep them waterproof which makes them harder to recycle. The alternative - purchase a reusable coffee cup! With Circular & Co., you can select from a range of colours and designs. Branded cups and water bottles with your business’ logo are available to purchase too.

4. UpCircle Beauty

UpCircle Beauty transforms leftover natural ingredients into quality skincare products. The brand is 100% natural, organic, vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, sustainable, handmade in the UK and housed in 100% recyclable packaging. They’ve got a huge range of products including hair treatments and beauty accessories too. You can even take a ‘Skin Quiz’ to work out which products are best for your skin type. What’s not to love?

5. Life Supplies

Often natural products aren’t as good as their high street alternative - but that’s what Life Supplies are determined to change. Their beautiful packaging is designed to be bought once and refilled forever, reducing the amount of plastic in our bathrooms. Along with deodorant, they sell hand wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner too. Take a look!

6. Hey Girls

18 million women in the UK menstruate but 1 in 10 women can’t afford to buy period products. Why not put your money towards one of the brands trying to change this, without harming the environment at the same time? Hey Girls are a social enterprise aiming to end period poverty and educate others on period health, ending the shame and stigma that often surrounds it. They supply sustainable pads, tampons, cups and reusable pants too!
